What is an auditory processing issue?

Language, hearing, speach, reading are all part of a complex neurological mechanism. The best way of picturing the neurology is imagining them as small 'wires'. If any of these 'wire' connections simply don't function as well as they should, then the experience will be difficulty reading, difficultly in pronounciation of words, word and language memory.

So an auditory processing issue is a disruption to one of the pathways involved in either identification, interpretation or production of language.
